The Caravan & Trailer Road Safety Alliance kicked off this week with initial planning meetings being held with participating businesses. Alliance participants will investigate projects under sub-headings of consumer education, technology, regulation development, insurance, government interaction and research.
While accidents involving caravans are few and far between given the number of kms travelled, they do sadly occur, and when they do cause considerable trauma for those involved, including other road users. With over 750,000 registered RV products in Australia, the Alliance will be actively working to investigate ways to reduce RV accidents and promote better outcomes and safety for consumers.
